In keeping with the conference venue – ZKM: Karlsruhe’s Centre for Art and Media – we also appealed to the creative side of the participants and held a NumART competition, for this we asked competitors to combine their creativity with the field of Nuclear Materials. The winner of this award was Olivier Dugne for his entry 'Sahara'.
Poster abstracts are now invited on the following topics and should be submitted using the online abstract submission system. Abstract submission deadline: 30 June 2010. Oral abstracts are no longer accepted. Visit www.nuclearmaterials2010.com for further details.
To promote the active participation of young researchers (under 35 years old) to the NuMat2010 conference, the organisation will be awarding prizes for the best young scientist oral and poster presentations. Orginality of the work and quality of the presentation are the key criteria for these awards.
The first Robert Cahn Award will be awarded to Professor Steven Zinkle at NuMat 2010. The award has been created to honour this highly respected materials scientist who was also one of the founding editors of the Journal of Nuclear Materials, the sponsor of the conference.
